Triple Crown Bluegrass

Mowing - Never cut more than 1/3 of the leaf blade, excess clippings can smother healthy turf. Always cut with a sharp blade. In summer months (June - August) you may want to cut at the highest recommended height to give the roots more shade and coolness.

Fertilizing - DO NOT fertilize with nitrogen fertilizer when daytime temperatures exceed 90 degrees (June - August). To enhance color or provide leaf strength, apply a liquid chelated iron product at the recommended rate.

Weed Control - H Bar H Turf Farms strongly recommends that you apply a pre-emergent weed control to your established lawn 3 times per year. The tight canopy of a Bluegrass lawn can be a haven for weed seed germination. We suggest application of a pre-emergent in March, June and October. These can be done simultaneous to your fertilizer application or Triple Crown Bluegrassseparately, whichever you prefer.

Watering - Provide moisture for your lawn in the early part of the morning (before 10:00am). Infrequent but deep watering encourages deeper root development and produces healthy lawns that can maintain their appearance even during stress.
